Gerhard Andlinger is a Trustee of the American Austrian Foundation (AAF).

The AAF is a non-profit, non-governmental organization founded to promote a positive relationship between the U.S. and Austria. Through exchanges in medicine, communications, science and the arts, the AAF endeavors to bring the two countries together in the interests of peace and prosperity. The AAF works toward opening opportunities among Americans, Austrians and Eastern Europeans; opportunities to share ideas, establish contacts and build lasting personal relationships.

The AAF sponsors a number of programs and oversees joint programs with American and Austrian institutions and organizations. The foundation also provides grants to institutions that share similar goals.

Mr. Andlinger's involvement in the AAF is highlighted by the Andlinger Residency Exchange Program. He has actively and generously supported the program since its inception in 1992. The Andlinger Residency Exchange Program offers American and Austrian medical residents one month's training in either the U.S. or Austria during their medical residency. The program aims to supplement the resident's education and to broaden his/her experience by being exposed to a foreign healthcare system.
